I too have seen this tombstone dedicated to Walther von der Vogelweide, behind the Neumunster Church in the Lusamgarten in Wurzburg. Walther was the greatest lyric poet of Germany, after Goethe. He lived between 1170 and 1230. This gravesite is serene and beautiful, next to the remains of a 12 Century monastery wall -- an oasis in the center of the city.
