BMW Headstone

Here's another view of the BMW headstone I posted yesterday.

A BMW?

I've seen cars used as grave markers before. Usually look like crap. This BMW, however, doesn't look half bad.

St. Joseph's Cemetery, Erie, Michigan

I'm not sure what to make of this. It's concrete. The niche is about six inches deep and is backed with wood. A small metal plate is nailed to the wood. Did it hold a statue? A photograph? I'd rather like to know.
