Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, New York

The Seneca chief Red Jacket.

"Fakir of Ava?" Never know what you'll find. He was Isaiah Harris Hughes, a stage magician.

I'm enjoying your new blog Jeffrey. My mother is a geneologist which meant as I was growing up in the 70's all our family vacations centered around her research - most of which took place in cemeteries. I thought it was totally normal to spend countless hours roaming through graveyards picking out my favorites. As a result I don't find cemeteries morbid, but rather peaceful and beautiful.

Side note: I recently visited my future burial place in the Cimtiere Cote des Neiges, Montreal. My husband's family has a large family plot there where 4 generations have been laid to rest. I didn't find being there frightening but rather comforting. I pray we all rise together to the resurrection of life. Amen+

Love your blog, Jeffrey. I linked a photo of yours to my blog, jimnolansblog.com, about Forest Lawn and the article in today's NY Times about Chinese tombs. Hope that's ok.
